Chapter 9 : Alkynes

Alkynes contain the doubly unsaturated C≡C functional group.
Terminal alkynes,  R-C≡C-H, are quite acidic for hydrocarbons and can be deprotonated to form a carbanion that can then be alkylated.
Like alkenes (C=C), the alkyne C≡C undergoes a variety of addition reactions (review)
